Rockefeller has certainly not done well in all this.

I should have been clearer with that comment, Mary. I had in mind the various conflicts he had and should have had with Roberts since Roberts became the chair of the Senate intelligence committee. Rockefeller has wimped out time after time.

As for this particular time, I'm struck by McCain's comment. That if Rockefeller thought something illegal was happening, he should have gone public with it. It's a sticky wicket issue, granted. Since he probably had to sign some nondisclosure stuff before being granted access. But I would guess that nondisclosure agreements are null and void if one suspects a violation of statute.
