Personally, I am a proponent of intelligent design and I don't want any public school to teach Christian, Jewish, or Islamic doctrine. But I also don't want students to be taught that as scientific fact that God has nothing to do with us being here. I did receive that message in a biology class many years ago. I thought the professor's mocking tone was wrong but believed he was correct factually. Which probably had something to do with my being an atheist for much of my adult life.
