"Intelligent design" is just a relabelling of "creationism" and has been so ruled by the USSC. It was also ruled that teaching it in public schools is a violation of the establishment clause and is unconstitutional. Science has nothing to say about core religious matters. Was there a God who arranged for certain physical constants to have values that make life possible? It can't answer that. If there was a Big Bang, was it caused by a God? Science can't answer that. Did a God have anything to do with us being here? Science can't answer that. Which probably had something to do with my being an atheist for much of my adult life. Why did you go wrong? :-)
