Just back in from out of town. I just wrote a very large post on another thread and am a bit tired from my trip. However, I do want to address your post and will do so in the manner it deserves very soon. Thanks for your input and be looking for my reply. I hope your CHRISTmas was a good one.

I am also concerned when a culture supports religion over the importance of spiritual awareness. While we are waiting for Oz's enlightenment, my guess is - westerners do not spend nearly enough time living with spiritual awareness in their hearts and minds. To make up for lost time - long spiritual retreats are helpful to refresh our spiritual being and awareness. You know, make it our reality. Comparing one's awareness in a long retreat to our awareness in daily life western world, is an important contemplation. As you mention we always come back to whether we are experiencing inner peace, or not.

Maintaining spiritual awareness in daily life is an important realization, for both an individual and a culture. That said, I'm forever trying to solve the spiritual riddle of being born into today's western world, with all it's materialism. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. If spiritual awareness can be experienced 24 hours a day, that would bring us all that much closer to the experience of heaven on earth.

Peace be with you.

Spiritual persons are those who develop an inner stillness and seek to nurture that life that is within.

So was Jesus not Spiritual person then? Your last post:
Message 22013853 (the one after this) seems to agree with the opposite. It was your quote above that made me feel I wanted to respond and expand on the subject but if you seriously do not think Jesus was an inward man and did not pray much then I think I will pass for now. The last thing I want to do is try to change anyone's mind that is not there yet.

peace,
Oz
