Unions are a favorite whipping boy because the members generally make more money, so when they ask for higher wages or even to maintain their benefits, even the lower wage workers turn on them as greedy. People forget that higher wages beget higher wages even in other industries (and the reverse is true). No, what will bankrupt "the country as a whole" is losing the middle class. John
