The real estate market has been collapsing for the last 5 years according to this board. Coincidentally, at the same time the Democraps became a minority party. The media, (a.k.a. the sock puppets for the Democraps), have propagandized the demise of this country and our fine President since: "The economy stinks, the war in Iraq is a mess, terrorists are allowed their 10 hours of beauty sleep, we need more taxes so we can really destroy the economy and blame Bush, if it wasn't for Bush, we wouldn't have hurricanes, blah , blah, blah".
Just about every post on this message board is by someone rooting for the destruction of the real estate market, and the economy as a whole. There can only be one answer for doing this: they envy and hate this country and capitalism. I have news for all of you- the economy is fine and growing, interest rates are still low, unemployment is low, there will be no collapse in the real estate market, and capitalism will always be better than socialism and communism. It is only natural than an area that has had tremendous gains in R.E. values in a short period to level off and even retract a bit. This is not a collapse. Those who got in over their heads will get burned like the gambler who goes into the casino, or the penny stock buyers in the mid 1990's, or whoever risked anything to win the lottery or make a quick score, etc. Play at your own risk and be accountable and stop blaming someone else if you fail.
There is plenty of money sitting on the sidelines ready to scoop up this real estate for the long term-because real estate is illiquid and is a long term investment for one's portfolio. The facts are clear, real estate will be worth more in the future that it is now. Our economy is far too diversified and as long as we have as close to a free market as possible we will be fine. So, stop reading the NY Slimes and listening to all the nagativity and enjoy life here in the U.S. because it's the best place in the world to live-just ask my parents who emigrated here 50+ years ago with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. The American Dream.
