hello elmat, masako probably meant that her kin togo was the lead on meeting the russian baltic sea fleet which was sent in as reinforcement to the far east.

looking up dusty books in musty archives, i find that togo was success in keeping the appointment in the tsushima strait (between korea and japan), and in the battle of tsushima, may 27–28, 1905, togo's fleet sent all eight of the russian battleships to the maker as scrap.

today will be event filled, some work, reflexology, a bunch of bills, data archive, my new year's letter, then a party ... the usual, looting, taunting, thinking, and scheming :0)

prosperity be with you, jay

<was the first Far Easten country to beat an European one>

Not so ElM. Did you not read about Genghis, TJ's ancestor, who marauded across to Europe. TJ's ancestors have always been trouble-making murderering thieves [not all of them probably, as there are sprinkled throughout humanity, people with humanity]. Today, they are planning further conquest and confiscation in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, that global warming is certainly quite a problem. Look how cold it is in Europe! It's getting so hot that an ice age could be upon them any day now.

It's almost as bad as the deflationary inflation people worried about a year or two ago.
