There are things that seem evil to me- but they involve the planning and intent to harm other people (who don't want to be harmed- thus letting the S&M folks off the hook). Torturing little children is evil; knowingly poisoning people with a product you know is toxic is evil; plotting to kill someone for insurance money is evil. I find it hard to figure out why one drug is more evil than another drug. But if it's visceral, and it doesn't strike my viscera, then I never will understand, I guess.
