I heard that the core was being sent out by river boat but they didn't get it out before freeze up. The boat is at Fort Yukon and they are in the process of transferring the core over to sled dogs. The problem is there is 3000' of core and only two dog teams and its a hell of a long way from Fort Yukon to Anchorage so its going to take a while to get the core out. The next steamer from Anchorage to Seattle is scheduled to depart January 14th and they hope to get all the core on that boat.
