Bush's economy is an illusion and delusion. It is almost all deficit-spending driven and ultra low interest rate driven. It's good only for the top echelon, those who own lots of stock and/or real estate. Especially the idle rich. And the richer you are, the better Bush's economy is for you. You talk to the average American and ask him/her if she feels better off economically. He/she will say no. That is proven in all the polls. Also, the 5% figure for unemployment is laughable. It is more like 14% when you count millions who have given up or underemployed. Bush has not created many jobs at all, mostly in security and construction, jobs which will be cut in the near future as the real estate bubble and the war cease to be. Yes, taxes are lower, but for the average American that is more than offset by high energy prices, health care, education and lack of job security. So it really only helps the very rich. Plus Bush wants to scrap much of the safety net most Americans rely on, so beware if he is allowed to get away with it. Then there is the deficit. WHo pays off these trillions and trillions in new debt? Answer: all of us after Bush is retired. What does that mean? Higher taxes of all kinds, or else doing away with SS and Medicare benefits which millions of Americans have already paid for. So, highway robbery.
