Why is that? When you say the reports aren't necessarily "independent" do you mean that the company shops for geologists they trust will produce a piece of promotional literature? jennifer

43-101 reports are great. They have made geologists far better off and busier than they used to be. They have also raised the cost of property acquisition and evaluation by about 3 times. On the other hand, they do make people think the results are more valid than the older qualifying reports, and for the most part they are more thorough. EC<:-}

I must strongly disagree with your opinion on Technical Reports. these reports are much better than previous reports written for the companies under the old regs. there is a strict format to follow and a visit is required in all circumstances- subject to a postponement due to inaccessibility. Independent reports are required when announcing new resources, a valuation, initial registration,or a preliminary prospectus. these reports are truly independent, believe me - I have written many. these reports should form the principal basis of all due diligence for any company you invest in. As you point out, many newswriters are paid company hacks. to use these boards for advice? well there are a lot of pumpers around. geo
