Israel, India and Pakistan were all liars and hypocrites when they told the world they were not manufacturing nuclear weapons. China, on the other hand, made it absolutely clear she was trying to acquire nuclear weapons. When China failed to acquire them from the former USSR (which, by the way, reneged on her promise to supply them), China manufactured her first atom bomb in 1964 and this bomb effectively ended the perennial US nuclear blackmail once and for all! US spy plane tests showed that the China atom bomb was far in advance of that exploded over Hiroshima in 1945 and that it was the kind of A-bomb that could be used as a "match" to trigger a hydrogen bomb. And so the world was not surprised when China exploded her first H-bomb in 1966. I thought the US was overly cocky when she exploded her first A-bombs and she always played the A-bomb card in international affairs. That ended when Klaus Fuchs , one of the eminent atom scientists of that time (and, believe it or not, a son of a Rabii) passed atom secrets to the USSR thereby enabling it to produce both the A-bomb and H-bomb in quick succession. When Fuchs was caught and tried in court, he said it was iniquitous for the US to have sole possession of nuclear weapons. This is a very important point, especially when we see how Bush and his neo-cons these days are showing disregard for scruples and human life and threatening others with their might-is-right attitude. IMHO, it was not necessary for the US to have exploded a couple of A-bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. The US did that to emphasize to the world in general, and to the USSR in particular, she has the super duper weapon and was therefore the BOSS! Because the US has used those bombs thereby setting a bad precedent, one or more other countries, ipso facto , have the right to use nuclear weapons in future. To ensure there will be no nuclear holocaust in the foreseeable future, it is imperative for the US (with the largest stockpile of nukes) and other members of the nuclear club to get rid of their stockpiles of nuclear weapons. As long as the US refuses to do so, the other members of the club will hold steadfastly to their nukes and probably use them sooner or later. If you believe in the Bible which teaches, amongst other things, "As you sow, so shall you reap", and "Do not unto others what you would not want done to you," the US, by the very fact she has used nukes in 1945, has incurred negative Karma! Therefore, no one should be surprised if a nuclear holocaust should occur somewhere in the US in the future, perhaps as a result of a nuclear accident if not by enemy action. Wouldn't it be terrible and terrifying if some folks and their personal possessions got vaporized in an instant with not a trace left to posterity and history???????? Just my opinion only!
