"Medicare, on the other hand, is nothing but a black hole...look out boomers."

That's because inflation in the entire health care system in the US is OUT OF CONTROL... has been for decades.

<<SS is much easier to solve than Medicare...which nobody wants to talk about. Many economists have pointed out that a tiny, and I mean tiny, increase in the FICA tax buys years of additional solvency for the system as it is currently constructed. I personally don't care for individual accounts, as most workers that have retirement accounts already have those in the form of 401(k), 403(b), etc. They can take their risk on that end. Social Security should be a predictable amount for life, as defined benefit pension plans are designed to be.

Add to the FICA change a recalibration of cost of living to a more reasonable measure and more solvency is bought. We are now ought to, what, 2050? longer?

Medicare, on the other hand, is nothing but a black hole...look out boomers.>>

They already lost enough of our money. No one is forcing anyone to put any money into individual retirement accounts. But you have that CHOICE-which is what this country is about. Business as usual means they'll just waste and steal more of our hard earned money. The government can't run the POST OFFICE, I don't want them managing MY money.
