Democracy means majority rule. What we mean is majority rule with minority rights intact, federalism where warranted, freedoms of speech, press, and religion along with full and complete rights for women.
The iraqi election satisfied majority rule. What is yet to be determine is how minority, religous and womens rights are taken care of. Turkey may prove to be the best model but of course there will be an iraqi flavor.

There's a fine balance of power that must be sought after in Iraq, where all rights are respected and conflicting interests are resolved peacefully.

In light of the election results, why are you hopeful? There are not enough secular Iraqis to make it happen.

What is your view on a three state solution BTW?
