"Several months ago I heard a radio commentator say we might have been better off if we hadn't fought the Civil War..............we are still at odds with those states today over many things and religion is one of those things."

No offense intended, but being a southern stater I vehemently disagree, it is the northern states that are the problem.

Carter - southern
Clinton - southern

Dukakis - northern

Though I do agree that the civil war should not have been fought.

This country has come unglued. We're manipulated into divisiveness by the media, then further lulled into stupidity and complacency by the crap du jour from the infotainment industry. Dan Rather reported the truth about Bush's military service. Out of 2000 servicemen, not one recalled seeing Bush when and where he should have been - highly unlikely that that loudmouthed lout could have been missed by everyone. For pointing out the truth, Rather was disgraced and forced to resign.

The US was manipulated into the Civil War. The experiment of this great republic proved to be successful. Lincoln was assassinated because he honored the Constitution in producing interest free currency. The last day of his life, he was working to oust the Central Bank and its insidious plan to topple the infrastructure. With the formation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, that mission was finally accomplished. The plans for WWI drawn up at the turn of the 20th C were implemented in 1914. The wars of the last century were all planned. We in this country worry about the erosion of the middle class -for good reason, because there will be none in the future:

"There will be no middle class, only rulers and the servants. All laws will be uniform under a legal system of world courts practicing the same unified code of laws, backed up by a One World Government police force and a One World unified military to enforce laws in all former countries where no national boundaries shall exist. The system will be on the basis of a welfare state; those who are obedient and subservient to the One World Government will be rewarded with the means to live; those who are rebellious will simply be starved to death or be declared outlaws, thus a target for anyone who wishes to kill them. Privately owned firearms or weapons of any kind will be prohibited."
