I saw Narnia last weekend and must have missed the part where Aslan ripped out the witch's throat.

As I saw it, Aslan bounded up to the witch (stopping her, incidentally, from killing one of the kids). He stood over her and roared. Next thing you know, she's gone.

FWIW, the allegory is right there, front and center, for all to see. The lion gives up his life so the others can live. Then he's resurrected.

So my question is, are you sure about the allegory?

CS Lewis was explicit about the allegory of the Narnia stories. Tolkien's Middle Earth is also a reflection of his Catholicism - but in contrast Middle Earth is Tolkien's idea of a world without a revealed religion.
