A very good post Tommasso. I agree with most of it.

However, international politics are in constant change. So what is true today may not be in 5-10 years from now. That is why you keep your shotgun.

As for the best store of value, maybe platimu is very good. But it lacks the liquidity and facilities gold can offer. That is why gold is part of the things I accumulate for my savings.

It does seem like the value of gold is mostly a function of its use in jewelry and as an investment, but it also has significant industrial uses -- utilisegold.com
