Well in the first Iraqi constitutional election, 70% of Iraqis voted. I'd call that flourishing.

The problem is, they voted overwhelmingly for partisan leadership, not national leadership. IMO, that does not bode well for democracy flourishing for very long in Iraq.

Well, one of your most oft repeated predictions was that Democracy would never flourish in Iraq. Well in the first Iraqi constitutional election, 70% of Iraqis voted. I'd call that flourishing. They have a long way to go to solidify their Democracy and make it something that will last, but so far the SUCCESS in Iraq has defied all of your predictions.

If you think that what is happening in Iraq is democracy, then you have a rather poor understanding of the subject. Under Saddam, Iraqis voted all the time but it was hardly a democracy.

Has it come at a huge cost to Americans? Undoubtably. Was it worth it? If Iraqi Democracy stands the test of time and helps to cause a domino effect in the greater Middle East, then I'll say it was worth it. But to make a judgement right now is about 20-30 years too early.

Sorry but its my money too. And I will make that judgment now........rather than twenty years from now. Thank you very much!

Lastly, would I have done things differently on the day after 9/11? You bet I would have! I would have leveled Afghanistan, passed it over to NATO and the UN and then I would have stopped there.

There were people who said the above from the get go. We were belittledand called unAmerican.

Instead, I would have urged Congress to join with me in spending hundreds of billions on a new oil-independent economy, and that would have been my moonshot.

Far too innovative and suspiciously socialistic for this GOP Congress.
