if we are going to have a monster run we need a quick shakeout down to apx 1265. This may coincide with options max pain at 1260

I don't know what to say about $MID. It's near new highs - it simply does a different dance than the broader markets. But SPX can still be easily seen in a corrective light. We should recall that this breakout from the low of a few days ago is still in line with what we expected to happen once the consolidation since Nov 23 would end.

The down gap open right now is interesting -- will it hold?
