You want to give that up I think that's melodramatic and it also misses the point. I was arguing that if Bush does his thing going after the enemy we're not giving up our right. That was my point. They are two different things. because you have George W. Bush's word that US citizens are not being spied on withhout a court order? I wouldn't take Bush's word for much of anything. I would insist on oversight. The warrant isn't the only mechanism for oversight. It's not even all that effective a mechanism for oversight as operatives can simply operate without one, as we have seen. A warrant isn't perfect protection. It's being treated by some as the holy grail, which is bogus and unwarranted. Pun intended.
