It does not take that much imagination to think what would happen if Bush does his thing going after the enemy without oversight No more imagination than it takes to recognize that there is no oversight that is effective enough to keep Bush from doing whatever he's going to do regardless. You have no effective oversight if he's determined to get around it. He can just go deeper and deeper into secrecy. You can't win. In the final analysis, he has enormous powers at his command. You can only try to collaborate to set up reasonable oversight and then get on with your life. Making unreasonable charges and demands will only make his efforts more furtive.
