Aladdin, Half wild dogs can not be trusted. What makes a dog tame is that we have breed them to never grow up and become adults as wild dogs (dingos, wolves, etc.) do. Half wild dogs such as your eventually do grow up and become adults, not just full grown adolescents. This is exactly the problem that developed with breeds such as Pit Bulls, they were breed to reverse the continually being a big puppy (i.e. to fight) and they become adults with no patience for some nonsense. Two of the most beautiful dogs I ever saw were half Black Lab and Half Alaskan Timber Wolf, (the father was shot when the mother was recovered and the bounty was collected). Unfortunately a few months after I saw them a three year old wandered into the dog lot, the Huskies in the lot did not bother them even though working huskies can hardly be called tame, the two wolf/lab dogs killed the child. I would strongly advice caution unless your kids are strong enough to overpower your dogs, considering their size (the dogs 50 lbs) I would guess an average 12 year old would probably be safe. knowing their place in the pack, does mean that they will at some point be ready to challenge the next beta animal up. r

I think there are swarms more 6 year olds chewed or killed by dogs than by being shot at school. What's great about the USA is that dog owners can be sued for their back teeth [so to speak]. dogbitelaw.com In NZ, they can't.
