Well SS, I wouldn't say Toronto streets are littered ... I've been places where the streets are littered with humanity... and we are not there yet.. I think many of those folks are beyond regular hope.. Somehow Harris had the right idea about workfair but execution was bad.. We need to destroy the cult of entiltement at both ends of the spectrum... else the middle will be squeezed to a pulp.. and frankly the only way we will survive (the US too) is a if the wealth is spread more evenly... The rise of chindia will only make this clearer... As to the Chinese... well it's a cultural thing I guess like Jews.. I know I grandad came here, paid the head tax.. died before his first family was able to get here aided by his 'second' family (A tale in itself) ... Both families did (are doing well) well here... I notice in Jamaica the small shop owners are typically Chinese or Indian... but that is anecdotal only.. regards AL...
