It seems to me that the WAY the NSA is data mining is bound to generate spurious leads. Any moron who watches the Sopranos KNOWS that criminals and evildoers don't communicate anything important in the open.

If you HAVE to say something in the open, you use a simple prearranged replacement code. "Attack" becomes "party", all times are 3 hours before the time stated and all dates are 5 days after the real date. The keyword data mining isn't likely to trigger on "party".

It's asinine to think the terrorists aren't at least this smart, and it seems to be proven out by the results of this program after five years. The NSA has the FBI chasing a bunch of harmless bad leads, and the FBI has stated this.

Why we would expect anything smarter from this "Brownie" appointing administration? I certainly hope that isn't ALL they've got.
