Check out this site when you get a chance. He's got a lot of good info about the MB trails, rock climbing etc. in that area. He's a little "out there having been in LA for a long time" but trains Olympic/professional athletes. This guy's living the life I want. I just don't know how he does it with no visible income.

"You can take the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge train right into the heart of the Rockies. Knock off a couple of 14'ers in one weekend. Quite stunning back there. During the week, you can ride your mountain bike until your knees buckle. Decent weather too."

Don't forget class 2 rapids right through the town, and a really nice hot spring soak too. Durango is a very nice place, but it's appreciated. No bargains there...
