You're kidding, right? why would the US be responsible for securing it during the invasion. Who else could provide security in Iraq during and immediately after the invasion?

Two minutes on Google will yield plenty of information on Iraq's uranium mining and yellowcake production in the 1970s and '80s.

And how do we know that the uranium ore was from Iraq's mines?
