BS,
The screws are 5 cents each (at the most) and shipping them to you would cost less then $1. They are simply quoting the company line, imo.

Stupid is as stupid does.

BWAC, I'd ask my hardware store for help with the screws. You'd have to take the laptop with you to fit them.

Reminds of the guy who had a flat tire right outside the grounds of an insane asylum which was separated from the highway by a deep ditch filled with water. He took the flat tire off. When putting the spare on he knocked the hubcap containing the bolts from the tire into the ditch.

While he set there moaning about his bad luck, one of the inmates suggested that he just take one bolt off each of the other three tires and use them to fasten the spare, drive the 4 miles to the next town at a moderate speed where he can get the bolts replaced.

Guy says, "Great suggestion. Thanks. By the way, what are you doing in that asylum?"

Inmate replies, "I'm here because I'm crazy, not stupid."

Without implying anything, can't you just take a screw off other cards and use them to solve your problem? <G>
