Pretty much a certainty if we invade Iran.


And we are in a much poor position than we were. Domestic oil production as a percent of consumption is much lower. Our "friends" like Venezuela might go along with the embargo. Mexico could extract any immigrations concessions it wanted to keep the flow going. Russia? Who knows what they would want.

And the results of a successful embargo? Deep, deep recession at best. An almost standstill in the movement of US goods and foodstuff at worst.

The bad guys hold the cards... if they know how to play them we are screwed.
