So, based on your analytics, what does that mean for GOOG action then in your eyes?

ok so what are your earnings estimates? With revenues up over 1.3 billion the earnings have to be $2.10+ wouldn't you say? This is where these wayout estimates are coming from. Maybe they aren't so wayout, I don't know. But a whisper number of $2.25 for the quarter makes every owner think they need to sell, that is a lofty expectation.

I will be happy with $2, because I think that gives us our $10 estimate on the 2006 year, and a 550 price to be compatible with other growing stocks like ebay. Google isn't going to trade at a 30 forward PE like some here think, UNLESS there is a huge miss. A big miss is possible on expenses only, I'd say.

I think the Google sites is the wildcard here and capable of a big win for the quarter. Google base plus some enhancements really woke up Froogle.

edit: oh I see you are looking for $2.07 to $2.12
because I've increased expenses proportionately with revenue

I don't think that works btw. I am sure you agree. I had to do the same. But the large hiring they have done, plus procurement of property all over the world including that Arizona land and elsewhere has to kick in. We didn't see the total expenses last quarter from their hiring since a lot of the people were hired mid-qtr. This quarter, it all comes home to roost.

PS one mistake I am not going to make next quarter is to go into the earnings season with no knowledge of yahoo. Thats what happened to me this time. I don't know what expectations were or what happened with yahoo. Semel made some statements that YPN is losing to google. But how much of a miss was it, is this a total overreaction or what. Ebay I know, and they had a stellar quarter.
