Lots of parliamentary systems have minority government and sometimes not from the biggest party. However you would think it should be from a vote of the members of parliament (different parties would engage in tactical alliances to try and win the vote for a preferred candidate for PM), rather than having some unelected official choose who will be PM.

It is strange, isn't it, Lazarus?! But as was said: "But there's a difference between what's legal and what's politically acceptable Big disappointment last night to see the Conservatives got less seats than expected. Interesting to see who the new Liberal leader will be. God help us if it is that jerk from Nova Scotia--Scott Brison. I cannot stand that lying phoney. All his fear mongering is a cloak for his hidden agendas and private issues. Disgusting little man...
