I agree.......we'll have to see if other companies follow. Some of the other car companies are not doing well. All new car sales have been bad this month. Many dealers in this area are hurting.

I am afraid the pension situation will be addressed all over during the next few years. Pensions will be cut or tax payers will pick up the tab............some places pay people 85% for not working..........no one can continue at that rate. I am in favor of pension benefits but let's be reasonable. If you can't pay the current workers cause the retirees are making 80 to 90 % for not working then something has to change..........

I just heard that in other countries people have universal healthcare so the companies don't have to pay for their retirees and it saves them lots of money. Ford will keep it's foreign plants operating.

What a joke..........our companies are going to use workers in countries that have gov't paid healthcare and retirement benefits yet they won't pay for those benefits for Americans................privatized profit and socialized expense is their motto.

The taxpayers will end up paying for all retirements at the end of this corporate regurgitation.
