To my untrained eye, the study looked pretty much like psycho babble to me. I was merely trying to illustrate, by way of two simple examples, where the liberal faction in this country is more unwilling to admit their guy/woman is wrong on a particular issue than the right wingers are. I agree with your view that a study of this type does little to enlighten one on how people think about politics. My cynical side sez someone received some grant money to tell us what we already know. :-)
