Mish, during the Great Depression, Treasury agents

did open safety deposit boxes. There are 'stories'.

The ones that may be believed, when banks re-opened,

there were receipts left for the owner's cash. And,

sometimes the receipts were grossly 'under'.

Often wondered, and never heard, what happened to any

gold. I suppose very few people had any gold coins

or admitted since gold was 'illegal'. <G>
