Right now engineers want to flock to goog to get rich.

Why can't engineers flock to msft anymore to get rich, is my point. Sure msft stock isn't on fire like it used to be. MSFT should be able to pay better than GOOG right?

My point is that msft has deliberately made statements that had the tone of "you're just a worker here now, if you don't like it, stuff it"- and this is the reason they are losing talent and can't deliver to the degree they used to. Everybody knows those bell curve employee reviews don't work for engineering companies. EVERYBODY knows this.

When Gates was running msft I doubt personnel would have made the kind of comments MS personnel makes now "we are giving out stock grants now- if you want money you aren't going to make it here".

Its all an attitude thing imho.
