I firmly believe in civility. This is one small step toward collaboration. We can't solve any problem if we can't agree on the shape of the table. Using the designated labels shows a modicum of respect at least for the process if not the opponent. You can generally tell the reasonable from the unreasonable by whether they follow such simple protocols.

Well, label me firmly unreasonable. We are not in serious negotiations between two factions here in which case language serves a distinct negotiating purpose. We are just stating points of view so others can read and understand those points.

The so-called pro life movement won a spin campaign to get itself so labeled. And they wish it's opposite to be the label for the pro-choice movement. In the arena of public debate, such as this is, I see no reason to let that stand.

It's perfectly "reasonable" to debate the proper labels, just as it is to debate the policies themselves. Both can be done with some measure of civility.
