Regarding insider activity..Tim Hennessy bought 17,500 Mark Kuntz sold 110,000 to pay off Xmas<<>> Simon Clark, new on the job, from Railpower, gets 400,000 options@$.73 so that he will be paying attention to his new work. This guy has first hand knowledge of Railpower and their recent problems with lead acid batteries for hybrid locomotives. Vince Sorace gives a family member 375,000 @ .68 to possibly take care of future education or income splitting ???Fact is they were not sold and are still in friendly hands. It was a <<Disposition carried out privately >> To me these problems that Railpower is having with their batteries is not surprising...Did they think that Yard locomotives are in light duty service? In the real world these loco's are pulling loads from industrial spurs and are sometime running at full throttle for more than an hour at at time ,going deep into the battery and as we know this takes life off them...if railpower does not change to a better battery system we know where the hybrid locomotive is going....in the dumper. I have argued the case for VRB ESS for hybrid locomotives here for some time...it is possible and i think a good solution for Railpower and a good solution for dynamic braking of road locomotives...click on milkyeyetwo. could a couple of 5kw ESS end up in my basement next year to take advantage of smart metres coming to Ontario...bet on it.Charge them at night at 3 cents a KW and sell it back to the grid at peak hours at 9 cents... add a few solar panels or wind mill...would this be good for me??No dought...good for the province...it is load levelling by the people for the province with profit to the people who act.VRB's can be cycled over 13,000 times...do the math..in and out on a daily basis, good for 35 years or more.
