Vanteck is an up and coming leader in the energy storage technology field. The technology utilizes Vanadium pentoxide, and is termed the Vanadium Redox Battery. There are a number of advantages of the VRB technology compared to conventional lead-acid batteries. A prototype is already in use in Japan: a 12 story building uses this system: the storage unit is the size of a 2 file cabinets. Electricity is expensive during the day, and so the device stores energy during the night, and during the day, the building's electricity needs are entirely run by the device. The device can range from small ups (uninterruptible power source), to large storage devices, which are of great interest to Utilities. At this time, Vanteck has the licensing rights to the technology for the entire continent of Africa, has an agreement with Eskom (largest African utility), and has recently concluded an agreement with Highveld steel, the largest producer of Vanadium. Vanteck is after world rights for the technology, which is licensed by Pinnacle (an Australian company). For questions, call the company at 604-669-8331 Dan | ||||||||||||
