Why would anyone support this war anymore? It's almost as bad as Vietnam was around 1968. That is, it was based on a bunch of lies, it was eating up US soldiers and it has no clear goal or end in sight. ANyone who fought to end the Vietnam War early was a hero. Anyone who pressures Bush to change course and end this war faster is a hero. Anyone who supports a quagmire war is both a fool and a cynic.

Were a terrorist attack -- or an earthquake or some other natural disaster -- to occur in San Francisco, the federal governnment would just ignore all requests for assistance.

That someone could write this sentence in the wake of New Orleans is truly funny. The contempt that the RW media has for its own audience is stunning at times.

After Dumbya did a "heck of a job" at New Orleans, I am sure no San Franciscan has any illusions about federal government assistance in the event of a disaster.
