well I am not going to defend the democratic party here. But I live in California where houses cost 600K and up. A few years ago I lived in Texas where it was dirt cheap and you could literally subsist on nothing. The first thing I noticed was a dramatic change in terms of education/earnings power of the people that lived there. So to claim that the red states have the same education/per capita income as the blue states is just folly. There are a few states like Florida that have an educated voting base that rival a blue state. But not that many. The blue states fund the entire country.
