It's a little hard to see exactly where you stand from that post. My own view is that the only country in the world that is going in the right direction with regard to transportation (besides Japan, I guess) is France. Electrified high speed railways run by electricity generated from nuclear power plants (over 70% nuclear-generated electricity in France) and city transit system run by the same electricity (the Paris Metro) is practical and working and economical. Hydrogen-powered vehicles -- well, it's just somewhat better than perpetual motion machines.

For the weirdoes environmentalist there is no solution. Everything is bad! But now middle class is under pressure all over the world. Pretty soon the middle classes will have something else to worry about. And then they will change their minds.
