There are two ways to win. The Nazi approach, you step on every sign of it and infiltrate with secret police. Historically, this is only a short term solution and often leads to terrorism and worse over the long haul. And when you finally lose power, you go to jail. Or maybe a meat hook.......Then when you lose power, it is just a change of the guard.

It worked pretty well from Lenin through Stalin for at least 40 years or so. Except maybe for the meat hooks at the end, I mean.
