"We hope Congress will realize that extending the tax cuts would be an act of political cowardice, not courage."

What are the odds? The Republicans need to play to their base. The Democrats are busy hiding under rocks and behind trees. So who is left?

The rich don't need their tax cuts, never did in fact. Those tax cuts have done nothing but make the rich richer and create a lake of red ink. Kerry had it right in 2003, rescind the tax cuts for the rich at least until the war is paid for. This hugely expensive war is pure deficit spending.
