as,

re:The second amendment is not about protecting rightwing militias, white supremicists and religious extrtemist nuts amassing large arsenals and goofballs "collecting" machineguns with drum and banana magazines.

You sure have a lot of mental baggage and fictional impressions about gun owners - which I might point out is not the issue. Like free speech it's not about the message content it's about the right to say what you like or own the gun of your choice regardless of whether others share your preferences.

re:The NRA attitudes don't fit in modern society

The NRA is for responsible gun ownership by law abiding citizens. They are also the only organization teaching gun safety nationally.

re:you have no need of automatic assault rifles.

It has been illegal to own automatic weapons since 1934. Rights are not based on need, they at the discretion of citizens to choose to exercise.

The NRA and it's members back laws that deal with criminals owning or using firearms.

re:should supprt Smart guns which only work for their owners

They don't exist/work and why would criminals choose a smart gun?

Now that we have two new members on the Supreme Court and perhaps a third in the next couple years - I'm looking forward to the court explaining to idiots like you that the second amendment means what it says - it's an individual right, that's why it's in the Bill of Rights. If you don't believe that go read your State's Constitution, like most it will repeat the second amendment and in many cases explicitly state for personal defence.
