The NRA is a rightwing extremist organization representing the gun lobby and the far-right whites-only paranoid militia and supremicist groups. Yes, many are law-abiding, but many are also callous, unrealistic and have no concern for public safety. Many NRA types have paranoid fantasies which could turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophesy. Also, the NRA has way too much effect on elections and are very dishonest about how they go about it. Attacking life-long hunter, marksman and combat hero John Kerry was a dishonest blow by the NRA far right.
