Whether you or I agree or not, OBL, his followers and many Muslims see all of SA as Mecca....not just the city.

Link? I think you're making stuff up.

Muslims are required, if able, to visit Mecca once during their life. It's one of the 5 pillars (5 commandments, if you will) of Islam. It's my understanding the OBL would rather not even recognize the nation-state of SA and would like all Muslims to live together in one huge geographical region from Africa to Asia under one califate. In that idealized context, where the heck is Mecca, if not in the present day city of Mecca?

First, the Saudi dictatorship is hardly in favor........its robbing the country blind.

Where's the proof that the average Saudi dislikes the government? And as I said earlier, they can't rob blind what is 100% theirs in the current ownership structure.

Secondly, the idea that Saddam was planning to invade Saudi Arabia is interesting science fiction but that's all it is.

You're kidding right? Iran is East of Iraq. Kuwait is next as the clock turns. After Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. What more proof do you need?
