"The pix were published in Sept. Why the trouble now??" Dunno if it is true or not, but the claim is that Saudi Arabia botched the Hajj again this year and 350 people got trampled. So to deflect criticism, the Saudi papers started to push the cartoons and demanding that Denmark apologize. After a few calls for worldwide protests, it was off to the races.

naked Jesus with a shlong? Why would that upset the Moslims? Explain that. The idea was having a Muslim country publish pix offensive to Christians. Do you think Christians would be focusing on the Muslim country's right to free speech or on what pigs the publishers are? Danes are pretty stubborn people who don't believe in any limits to their freedom, good or bad. Sometimes they are indeed also somewhat stupid and seldom thinking far ahead. I see. That's the real question that deserves more discussion. Obviously SOME organized Muslim group is stirring things up. If CNN or any of the news services were any good they would be there on the ground finding out exactly who organized the protests and why. The other question is why can't the security forces of Syria and Lebanon put down a mob? Perhaps they need some training from the Chinese in that regard. But bashing the Muslims is like shooting fish in a barrel. Hell, they can't even educate their women to read....
