I have lost some of my best friends too, Haq. It makes the few that I have left all the more precious.

"There was a time, that I had 5 best friends. We would stand back to back in a fight, and if one got in trouble, the others were there to back him up under any circumstances. I am sad to say that all four of these great guys have passed away. That has made me wonder "Why me God?". I drank as much as any of them did, smoked as many cigarettes, was in more care wrecks, and wandered into more dangerous places, but they went long ago. It makes me treasure the friendship with anyone that can put up with my cantankerous ways."

Maybe because only the good die young??? (gg)

I was fortunate to have a handful of friends. The only time ever existed in exactly the same space and time was at my wedding. I lost one to alcoholism. Even though he gained recovery, I had made some choices for his best interest that he still appears to hold against me. The rest live hundreds of miles from me.

I feel empathy for your situation. Your friends should, on average, all or all but one be still with us. I fear based on lifestyle choices, I will be scouting ahead for my friends. However, I plan on still walking in seventeen years, which is the difference between our ages.

You are one of the good people. I consider myself fortunate to have the opportunity to exchange with you.
