The topic was as plain as could be--the difficulty some traditional liberals have had in correcting their assumptions in view of proof positive that they are in error. But this difficulty is not a liberal monopoly, and it is certainly not stereotyping at all. The word "liberal" could conceivably be changed to "conservative" and the date changed to 1999, then the article might be read in 2025 and, possibly, lead to the same valid points Kling made about liberals except they might be applicable to conservatives.

Possible, if things in fact go to hell and the current conservative thinking turns out to be as failed as 1968 liberal thought has been shown to be.

That would be fine, error is error, nothing to be done about it except to change and reconsider.

Changing topics and avoiding them is our friend John's favorite ploy, but accusing others of doing so is a new twist.
