It is pretty clear the whole Muslim ME is angry at the West and simply out looking for excuses to show that anger. They have a deep enough, and common enough, well of anger that they reinforce each other when they find something to be angry about. I don't think it matters whether or not there really is a prohibition. When people want to get angry, they will find something to be angry about- the logic isn't important- not in the US, and not elsewhere. The real question in all of this, to my mind, is how do we diffuse Muslim anger against the West (unless we plan to fight the whole ME, which I don't think is reasonable).
