I think Bush has so much of a stigma that the next president has to be a Democrat. Just to prove that the Dems can screw it up too.

Z, You don't think Kerry would've been in Afghanistan?

Oh he definitely would have gone into Afghanistan, given that the American public wanted exactly that.

Of course, when the press focuses in on every casualty in Afghanistan (instead of Iraq like they are now), Kerry would probably bow easily to the pressure to pull out. And Afghanistan would be back to square one.
